Freshly cleared drainage may leave short sections soft or uneven. Use reduced speed on bicycles and avoid widening the trail to bypass wet tread.
Trail 09-D is closed between Oak Gate and River Marker 6 while the bridge approach is stabilized. Do not enter the closed segment or move posted barriers.

The field system is operational by design. This section translates the same work into the questions visitors most often ask.
A temporary closure is used when a trail segment cannot be kept reliably passable while work is underway or while a condition is being evaluated. Common reasons include storm damage, bridge or drainage repair, unstable tread, fallen trees, or work that requires equipment to occupy the full trail width.
Crews check access points, the travel surface, drainage, signs and markers, vegetation clearance, structures, and any condition that could interrupt normal use. They also record changes so the next inspection can be compared with the previous one.
Conditions that block access or create an immediate route problem are addressed first. After that, supervisors consider severity, how quickly a condition may worsen, trail use, crew availability, weather, and whether several repairs can be completed efficiently in the same area.
Include the trail name or number, the nearest marker or landmark, what you observed, and when you saw it. A photo can help when it is safe to take one. Reports are reviewed by trail services and matched to an existing inspection or a new field order.
